Well done Julie in supporting Luke through his dependence on prescribed drugs, it took lots of courage and bravery.

Our family has had a similar experience and we have come out the other end, stronger, wiser and a much closer family unit as a result of our ordeal.

Very brave gesture to this distressing discourse. Anti depressants and anti psychotics etc are prescribed too easily. I am going through similar with an adult dependent and find the medical model frightening in its lack of individualized care or assessment. Young and old are fast tracked into medication, without much else for the soul, spirit or life without drugs. My Childs medication seems to have exacerbated all his problems but my observations, daily, noted, are dismissed. There is very little communication between doctor and patient, or -the home based carer. Carers are hugely underestimated in their capacity to observe, understand, highlight changes, problems, and in this,Industry seems to prefer ignorant clients. Thank goodness for Internet, these days. I would be lost without it.

    Hi Luke and Julie,

Congratulations on achieving some accountability for the damage done while “taking as directed.” My name is David Montague Knight from Walla Walla Washington, USA. My wife and I are the subjects of the award-winning documentary DEATH BY MEDICINE a Gary Null production. I have been a care-giver for my wife for over seven years hoping that someday my wife Cheryl would recover from the damage done from taking Klonopin, Ativan and a variety of other anti-depressants and atypical anti-psychotic drugs that were prescribed by her doctor for TMJ.

Cheryl finally ended up in a mental institution for three months. When she returned home, she was not the same person. She has not returned to normal since that fateful day when the doctor falsely imprisoned her by committing her to a state mental institution. All she needed was to be stabilized and micro-tapered using the BMT method, invented by colleague of mine who now holds a patent on this protocol. If only we had known my colleague then, Cheryl would have been saved. It has been seven years off all meds and the damage seems to be permanent.

Now Cheryl needs constant care, costing me my career as a teacher and requiring constant attention that goes on 24/7. Our lives have been destroyed. We want to have hope We continue bringing awareness and accountability to this global scourge. Are the right people listening? Do they care? I would like to be part of launching IBAAN (International benzodiazepine awareness and accountability network) as a way of giving an international platform for prescription drug victims to come forth and tell their stories.

I am trying to work with my own government representative in congress. We need an international plan of attack that would send shock waves through the entire pharmaceutical industry, worldwide. This “silent holocaust” must end. I am tired of watching the “chemical rape of the mind, body and soul” Reg Peart, that seems to be taking the world by storm.

My wife is not an “addict.” She does not have a compulsion to take these medications nor does she crave these drugs. Neither does anyone else. Benzos are designed to function as a prosthetic for the CNS that has been destroyed by the very drugs that we were told would provide health and healing. To suggest that any of these well-intentioned survivors is an “addict,” is repugnant and puts the blame directly on the patients who only did what their doctors recommended. Yes, they are dependent. They are not “addicted.” To use this term plays right into the hands of the enemy. Why is that? Because it is an astounding reassignment of responsibility; blaming the patient rather than the culpable prescriber. We must stop the careless use of the word: “addict.”

I would love to talk with both of you and do some brain-storming. I am assembling the best talent in the area of benzo withdrawal and recovery along with media people who can help us get this important story to the public.

For whatever it is worth, my middle name is Montague. It was my grandmothers maiden name. She is buried in a cemetery in London. Her name was Alice Irene Montague Knight. My family are from Australia. My family tree has been traced back to John of Gaunt who is buried with his wife Blanche in the choir loft of St. Paul’s Cathedral.

I am very angry at the lack of understanding and concern when it comes to this horrifying scourge on humanity. I want to do something to help. I am very happy that you were able to prevail and get some monetary compensation. It will never bring back the years. I hope the damage is not permanent. In the case of my wife Cheryl, it appears the damage cannot be reversed.

My heart goes out to you Julie. I have been a caregiver for many years. Those who have lived this holocaust must advocate for those who are too sick to represent themselves. We must join hands across the globe in solidarity as we protest man’s inhumanity to man.

Blessings upon you. Please contact me so that we can do some brainstorming. I am in constant contact with my colleague who I believe is the only qualified person providing real science when it comes to benzo withdrawal and recovery. This method actually works and people are getting incredible results. This protocol must be done correctly and many sites claim to use this method but are doing something completely different, with disastrous results. I believe this method will become the gold-standard when it comes to benzo withdrawal and recovery. Two hundred people across the globe already know this to be a fact. Let’s never give up. We have work to do.

    Very sincerely, Dave Knight

      Hi David

I watched the documentary yesterday. It was really illuminating. Thanks so much to you and Cheryl for sharing your story. I think it will save a lot of lives. Wishing you all the best with your work. You are an inspiration. Do you have a Facebook page or somehow we can follow your work and help the cause? Amy, Ireland

I watched the documentary the other day. I was so sorry to hear that Cheryl never received and the damage was permanent. I am so afraid that is the case with my mother. She has been on many different medications and has had such bad reactions to all of them. She has been off everything for about o month, but continues to have episodes. Just today I watched her have a meltdown and throw food at my dad. It takes me about 2 hours to calm her down when she gets like this, I am so afraid she is permanently damaged. She was never on a lot, only 5 mg of diazepam, then she was on 25 mg of motpropol and then fosomax. I watched the symptoms Cheryl had, and my mom has neck pain, jaw pain and overall pain and it’s always “EXCRUTIATING” or so she says. It is a living hell for my dad, so I have great sympathy for your situation, Any advice you could provide would be helpful, and I am looking for ways to help get the word out on how dangerous these drugs can be. I am a big proponent for “natural Health solutions”.

It’s very effortless to find out any topic on web as compared to textbooks,
as I found this piece of writing at this website.
